It is time to say goodbye for the summer. Even though we have experienced a magical year of growth in faith, academics and mind it feels so right to be ending and heading out in to the bright sunny summer. The shoes are coming off and the schedules are thrown away. Our minds are moving in a whole new direction and we can’t wait.
We finished this week with a Family Appreciation Luncheon. It was wonderful to see the students perform the music the y have learned all year. Thank you to all of the parents who took the time to spend their lunch hour with us!
It was wonderful to spend this beautiful Friday with the Grandparents of our students. We hope you all enjoyed yourselves and that you have a great weekend.
We talked about our Moms this week in morning prayer. The students were reminded that our Moms give us everything we need to grow. They give us healthy food, love and patience, knowledge and wisdom. Moms give us support and strength as we live each day. It was wonderful to spend the morning with our moms with the Parent Group’s tradition of Muffins with Mom. It was a beautiful and delicious way to start school.
Spring is finally here and the students are loving the warm weather! The days are filled with energy and excitement as we finally begin to enjoy a new season. Many of the children play spring sports and have a full life in and out of school. I can imagine the kids are sleeping well at night after running club, sports and homework. We are busy planning class field trips, science camp, Grandparent’s Day and graduations etc. It is a full court press to summer and we are loving every minute of it. We pray for each of our families and invite God to join you on your daily events.
See the attached newsletter for a school update.
The calendar for the last quarter of the school year is filling up quickly. It is such a fun time of year when we can get outside and plan the classroom field trips. The students are doing a great job meeting their reading goals and the teachers are pushing through the last sections of the curriculum. Check out the newsletter for all information about the school.
We are so blessed to have such wonderful children and families at Sacred Heart School. As the sun finally pokes out of winter, we are looking toward finishing out the school year with a lot of activity. It is a fun time of year as we plan Grandparent’s day, field day, graduation and many class field trips.
Please see the newsletter for all information and upcoming activities.
We traveled to Chelsea, Detroit and Traverse City this week as part of our “Road trip through Michigan.” The teachers and students have made each classroom destination fun and interesting. We made fossils in the kindergarten room, learned many fun facts about Detroit and even ate some chocolate covered cherries in Traverse City. Father Joe was our Mystery Reader and he shared his hidden talent of busting tongue twisters. We were very impressed!
The students have been working at finding joy even when they do not feel positive about the way their day is going. Growing up can be challenging but we never have to be alone because Jesus is always with us.
State Representative Bronna Kahle was our mystery reader this week and she answered the student’s questions about the state and local government.
We are also very excited for tonight’s Open House where we can have breakfast for dinner, visit the 5th/6th grade wax museum, join the Book Swap, Read Under the Stars or have a dance party in the gym. Feel free to join the festivities tonight.
